Migrating S7 Classic to TIA Portal

Why a retrofit

Many production plants run on S7-300 or S7-400 controllers. These plants do not deserve a complete overhaul, but expert care. Older S7 Classic controllers increasingly lose spare-parts supply and manufacturer support. Switching to TIA Portal therefore does not have to mean a long production stop.

How the migration works

SIS analyses the legacy program, ports the logic to TIA Portal and commissions step by step — out of operation as briefly as possible, tested as thoroughly as necessary. Migrating existing Siemens S7 Classic controllers (Step 7) to current TIA Portal systems covers analysis, porting and commissioning without long production stops.

Which platform for what

We programme with Siemens TIA Portal (for S7-1200, S7-1500 and related systems) as well as with Siemens S7 Classic (Step 7) for S7-300 and S7-400. We realise HMI projects with Siemens WinCC. We state which platform is the right one for your project in the free initial consultation.

TIA Portal is today the standard development environment for current-generation Siemens controllers. We write structured, documented programs in FBD, LAD and SCL — from a single machine to a linked production line.

Maintenance without reprogramming

We read out existing S7 Classic programs, analyse faults, add functions and document legacy plants — even without a complete overhaul. Many customers use us as an external engineering resource for existing plants.

Effort

The effort depends on complexity and scope. After a free initial consultation you receive a written effort estimate — binding, not an entry-level quote followed by extras.
